Spring Hill, FL – A 36-year-old woman is dead and three others are injured following an early morning crash in Spring Hill on Sunday, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Lema Drive and Spring Hill Drive. FHP says an 18-year-old man from Port Richey was driving a Hyundai Santa Fe south on Lema Drive when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign.
As the Hyundai entered the intersection, it struck the left side of a Chevy Malibu that was traveling east on Spring Hill Drive. The impact caused both vehicles to travel further across the intersection, with the Chevy crashing into a utility pole and a tree.
The driver of the Chevy, a woman from Spring Hill, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 18-year-old Hyundai driver and his two passengers — teen girls aged 17 and 18 — sustained minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
FHP continues to investigate the crash and has not yet released the identities of those involved.
