Authorities confirmed that a crash in San Bernardino County resulted in the deaths of three individuals, including two innocent bystanders, as a motorcyclist allegedly attempted to evade sheriff’s deputies.
A heartbreaking event occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. as deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department tried to pull over a motorcyclist for reckless driving in Redlands.
“The driver of the motorcycle did not yield and fled from the deputies,” SBSD Public Information Officer Mara Rodriguez said in a statement. “The motorcycle driver collided [with] a vehicle on Redlands Boulevard near Tennessee Street.”
Tragic news as all three individuals involved in the crash have been confirmed dead.
In the aftermath of the crash, dramatic footage reveals an overturned black Toyota Prius in the street, surrounded by a significant presence of deputies and medical personnel from the fire department responding to the scene.
Scattered debris from the crash covered the street, with belongings from the Toyota Prius strewn about, likely ejected during the impact or while emergency crews worked to extract the victims.
As investigators examined the scene, the intersection remained blocked off, leaving uncertainty about the motorcycle’s final resting place following the high-speed collision.
Officials from SBSD did not clarify if deputies pursued the motorcycle driver, stating only that they tried to conduct a traffic stop.
Furthermore, details regarding the ages or genders of the individuals who lost their lives in the tragic crash remain undisclosed.
PIO Rodriguez announced that the California Highway Patrol is currently looking into the incident.
