A 40-year-old man has been taken into custody in western Wisconsin following a comprehensive multi-state investigation into drug trafficking, leading to significant drug seizures.
In a significant development, the Campbell Police Department revealed that they were approached in February 2025 by the Boulder County Drug Task Force in Colorado regarding an extensive multi-state drug trafficking probe.
Authorities revealed that significant quantities of marijuana were being transported from Colorado to a location in Campbell, Wisconsin, prompting a collaborative investigation.
A potential suspect emerged from the investigation, prompting the execution of a search warrant at approximately 2 p.m. on June 5. Authorities from the Campbell Police Department, alongside the La Crosse County Emergency Response Team, executed a warrant at a residence located in the 900 block of Hanson Road in Campbell.
Authorities confiscated approximately 62 pounds of marijuana, six firearms, psilocybin mushrooms, and various drug paraphernalia, leading to the arrest of 40-year-old Steven Harter on multiple charges:
- Possession with intent to deliver THC over 10,000 grams
- Manufacturing and delivering THC, between 1,000 and 2,500 grams
- Possession of Psilocybin
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Harter secured his release on a $5,000 cash bond following a hearing on June 6, but he could face more charges in the future.
