A woman has been arrested months after a warrant was issued in connection with the fentanyl overdose of a child under two years old, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
In September 2024, authorities were alerted to a possible overdose after a young child was brought to a local hospital. Following an investigation, officials sought felony charges for negligent child abuse inflicting serious physical injury against Richard Kimery Mitchell Jr. and Brittney Danielle Hohn.
Court documents indicate the child ingested fentanyl, leading to serious medical concerns.
Mitchell was taken into custody in January. On Tuesday, Hohn was located during a traffic stop and taken into custody without incident. She is being held on a $150,000 secured bond.
The case remains under investigation.
