Saukville, WI — Discover Energy, LLC; operating under the name Rehlko and formerly known as Kohler Energy — has announced it will permanently close its Saukville facility, resulting in the layoff of 66 employees, according to a WARN (Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification) letter submitted to the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD).
The facility, located at 300 N. Dekora Woods Blvd, is scheduled to shut down operations by December 31, 2025, with the layoffs planned to occur in three waves:
- Wave 1: On or within 14 days of August 8, 2025
- Wave 2: On or within 14 days of September 5, 2025
- Wave 3: On or within 14 days of December 31, 2025
The WARN letter notes that the affected employees are not represented by a union, and bumping rights — which would normally allow more senior employees to replace those with less seniority — will not apply in this case.
This announcement marks the third layoff notice in Wisconsin for June, highlighting continued shifts within the state’s manufacturing and energy sectors. Discover Energy has not publicly detailed the reasons behind the closure.
The DWD and local employment agencies are expected to coordinate support for displaced workers in the coming months.
