Flagler County, FL — A routine traffic stop led to a troubling discovery after deputies say a Florida woman was caught with fentanyl and syringes hidden inside her body.
Jessica Reno, 34, was arrested on June 15 following a traffic stop for a mismatched license plate and improperly worn seatbelt, according to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say the license plate on Reno’s Chevrolet pickup truck was actually registered to a Ford vehicle. Further checks allegedly revealed Reno was driving with a suspended license, lapsed registration, and no insurance.
Reno reportedly admitted to officers that her license was suspended and that she had a pending court date for a previous driving offense. She also admitted using a friend’s license plate after her own allegedly “blew off” her truck days earlier.
Following her arrest, deputies say a female officer conducted a search, during which Reno was warned that hiding contraband could lead to additional charges. Reno allegedly denied having anything illegal on her.
However, during the jail intake process, deputies reportedly discovered a black sock concealed in Reno’s vaginal cavity. Inside the sock were six capped syringes and a bag containing a white powdery substance, which Reno allegedly identified as fentanyl.
Reno faces multiple charges, including smuggling a controlled substance and possession of fentanyl. She was booked into the county jail and later released on $11,500 bond.
The investigation is ongoing.
