Houston, TX – A Houston man has been arrested in connection with a suspected bank jugging burglary, authorities announced.
According to the Harris County Constable Mark Herman’s Office, deputies with the Special Operations Unit conducted a traffic stop on June 7 in the 10200 block of Veterans Memorial Drive. The stop led to the arrest of Chikei Williams, a previously convicted felon, who was suspected of breaking into a vehicle in search of money after following someone from a bank.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies found a ski mask and a window punch — a tool commonly used to shatter car windows — suggesting Williams was engaged in criminal activity.
Williams was taken into custody and booked into the Harris County Jail on charges of burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of an instrument used for criminal purposes. His bond was set at $200.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident.
