Showers, Storms, and Steamy Conditions Continue Through the End of the Week in Metro Detroit

After several days of showers, thunderstorms, and high humidity, the unsettled weather pattern isn’t over yet. Thursday brings partly cloudy skies with a continued chance for showers and thunderstorms through the mid to late evening. Some storms may become strong to severe, particularly along and south of I-94. The primary threats include damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour and heavy rainfall. Temperatures will remain warm and humid overnight with lows around 71°.

Friday Outlook: Storms, Heat, and High Humidity

The heat and humidity will continue into Friday. Expect partly cloudy skies with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing around lunchtime and lasting through the afternoon and evening. Some of these storms could be strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has issued a marginal risk (1 out of 5) for severe weather on Friday.

Temperatures will climb to around 91°, but with humidity factored in, heat index values are expected to reach the upper 90s to near 100° by the afternoon.

Friday night will bring partly cloudy skies as a cold front pushes through, helping to clear out the storms. Overnight lows will dip to around 70°.

Weekend Preview: Drier, Then Warmer Again

The weekend starts with partly cloudy skies and cooler temperatures on Saturday, with highs in the mid-80s. Expect a mix of sun and clouds both Saturday and Sunday, though heat and humidity will make a quick return by Sunday. Highs will climb back into the lower 90s by the end of the weekend.

Stay weather-aware, especially through Friday, as storms could pack a punch with strong winds and heavy rain.
