Price, UT – A 35-year-old Price man has been arrested on multiple charges related to a shooting that left his ex-girlfriend seriously injured in February.
On the evening of February 17, just after 6 p.m., the victim was confronted by her ex-boyfriend, Matthew Michael Muir, near the intersection of Carbon Avenue and Main Street. According to Price police, the woman fled toward the Price Family Pharmacy as Muir fired multiple rounds at her.
The woman was struck at least once and was immediately transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
Police later located Muir in a vehicle with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was also taken to a hospital in critical condition.
On Thursday, Muir was formally arrested on a warrant charging him with attempted aggravated murder, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery — all first-degree felonies. Additional charges include felony discharge of a firearm and carrying a dangerous weapon under the influence of alcohol or drugs, a class B misdemeanor. The charges were filed in Price’s 7th District Court but remain sealed.
Court documents indicate the arrest warrant was issued on May 14. However, Muir’s arrest was delayed until after his release from a medical facility, according to Price police.
The investigation remains ongoing.
