ORANGE COUNTY, Calif. — An 18-year-old from Laguna Hills was arrested after allegedly fleeing the scene of a road rage crash and heading to the movies instead of reporting the incident, according to the Irvine Police Department.
The incident occurred on June 18 and involved Kaleb Patrick Hardisonhaper, 18, and another driver. Authorities say it remains unclear how the road rage altercation began, but it ultimately led to the victim, driving a Honda CR-V, crashing into a light pole.
Despite significant front-end damage to the vehicle, the driver sustained only minor injuries, police said.
Following the crash, Hardisonhaper reportedly fled the scene. Officers later located his vehicle parked at the Irvine Spectrum Center mall, where the teen had gone to watch a movie, police said.
Hardisonhaper was taken into custody and booked into the Orange County Jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
Investigators are seeking additional information from the public and are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or may have photos or video to contact the Irvine Police Department.
The case remains under investigation.
