New Elementary School in Weber County Vandalized; Officials seek Public help

WEBER COUNTY, Utah — Authorities are searching for a group of suspects who broke into the under-construction Roosevelt Elementary School and vandalized the property, causing thousands of dollars in damage.

The incident occurred recently at the new school site, which is still being developed. According to the Weber County Sheriff’s Office, the suspects gained unauthorized access to the building and damaged multiple areas inside.

The Weber School District has issued a $500 reward for information that leads to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible. District officials expressed disappointment over the setback, which may impact the school’s construction timeline and budget.

“This type of destruction is not only costly but incredibly disheartening,” officials said in a statement.

Lieutenant Sean Endsley with the Weber County Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to come forward. “If you recognize the individuals in the surveillance photos or have any relevant information, please contact us,” he said.

Tips can be submitted in several ways:

  • Call the Investigations Bureau at 801-778-6631
  • Submit an online tip through the “See Something Say Something” section
  • Call Weber Area Dispatch at 801-395-8221

The investigation remains ongoing. Authorities hope that members of the community will help identify the suspects and prevent further damage to public property.
