El Paso, TX — A 44-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash in East El Paso on Wednesday afternoon, June 18, according to the El Paso Police Department (EPPD).
Authorities say the incident occurred along the 12100 block of New World Drive. The EPPD’s Special Traffic Investigations unit responded to the scene to investigate the fatal collision.
The motorcyclist, identified as Angel Arturo Hernandez, was traveling eastbound on New World Drive when, for unknown reasons, he reportedly locked his brakes. The sudden braking caused the motorcycle to skid and crash, police said.
Hernandez was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
This incident marks the 29th traffic fatality in El Paso so far this year, according to police.
