Man Sleeping at Gas Station Run Over and Killed; Driver Sought by LAPD

Los Angeles, CA – Police are looking for the hit-and-run driver who killed a man after running him over at a Sun Valley service station.

On June 17, around 5:10 a.m., a male suspect driving a dark-colored Hummer EV SUV entered an Arco gas station on Roscoe and Laurel Canyon Boulevards.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the victim was a vagrant who was lying on the ground and looked to be sleeping between two parking slots at the time.

While driving towards the convenience store, the suspect ran over the victim, who was lying on the ground. The motorist just stopped to pick up someone waiting outside before speeding away. They didn’t stop to check on the victim.

Officers arrived at the gas station and discovered the man dead on the scene, with blood over his face.

The LAPD revealed security video of the suspect’s SUV speeding away. No other information, including the victim’s name, was published.

“Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves,” according to the LAPD.

Anyone who gives information leading to the suspect’s identification, arrest, and conviction will be eligible for a prise of up to $50,000.
