Police apprehended and charged a Louisiana woman with multiple drug possession offenses after alleging that she had assaulted her granddaughter for “stealing her methamphetamine.”
The Jennings Police Department announced the arrest of 62-year-old Margo Lynn Pattum on Saturday in a news release posted to Facebook. Pattum was charged with nine counts of drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstruction of justice, and two counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance.
Pattum is also accused of strangling her own granddaughter, who is characterized as a juvenile, after accusing her of stealing her drugs, according to the police.
According to Jennings Police, they responded to a call on Thursday after the granddaughter reported that Pattum “strangled her” because she believed the girl had stolen her methamphetamine. Police obtained a search warrant for Pattum’s residence as their inquiry into the purported incident advanced.
According to the police, they discovered “a diverse array of narcotics,” including meth, crack cocaine, and marijuana, as well as additional narcotics in pill form, while executing the warrant. ” Additionally, they confiscated three firearms, one of which had been reported stolen.
Police also conducted a search of Pattum, during which they discovered a container containing crystal cocaine.
Police allege that Pattum’s alleged criminal activity persisted during her transportation to jail. They claim that she “attempted to discard a container” containing additional suspected crack cocaine “behind the transport seat” of the vehicle in which she was traveling.
Pattum was apprehended and subsequently remanded in detention on a $20,000 bond. The investigation is currently underway.
