Anaheim, CA – A man was arrested and charged with allegedly trafficking a 16-year-old girl in Orange County.
The suspect was identified as Donald Newton, 46, of Las Vegas, by the Anaheim Police Department.
On May 30, police received a call about a teenage girl being held against her will by an armed suspect.
Officers responded to a motel on the 700 block of S. Beach Boulevard in Anaheim, where they found the victim and transported her to safety.
The suspect was not located on the property, but a loaded firearm was discovered in the room.
Around two hours after identifying Newton as the primary suspect, detectives found him in Stanton and arrested him.
The Orange County District Attorney’s Office then charged him with:
- Pimping a minor over 16 years old
- Pandering with a minor over 16 years old
- Human trafficking of a minor
- Possession of a firearm by a felon
- Possession of ammunition by a prohibited person
- Three counts of personal use of a firearm in a felony
Newton remains in custody on a $500,000 bail. No additional information, such as how the suspect met the teen or how long she was held against her will, was released.
