Coeur d’Alene, ID — A 47-year-old man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for distributing methamphetamine, the Kootenai County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office announced.
Aaron C. Jewett pleaded guilty in April to charges of delivery of methamphetamine and possession with intent to deliver. His sentencing took place in First District Court before Judge Lamont Berecz, who ruled that Jewett would be eligible for parole after serving two and a half years.
According to prosecutors, Jewett came under investigation earlier this year after law enforcement used a confidential informant to purchase meth from him on multiple occasions between January and March. Following those controlled buys, police secured a search warrant for Jewett’s residence, where they found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
Jewett’s sentencing is part of ongoing efforts by local authorities to crack down on illegal drug activity in the region.
