A Kokomo woman was discovered with a dozen animals after serving years in prison for animal crushing, according to court documents.
Officers were dispatched to the 900 block of E Washington St. on Saturday afternoon after receiving a report of a suspicious person.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrived to find a feces-filled U-Haul loaded with 12 cats and dogs. Three people claimed. and eventually surrendered the animals.
Krystal Scott, one of the three suspects, had previously been arrested for animal crushing and served 30 months in prison.
The term “animal crushing” means “conduct in which one or more living non-human mammals, birds, reptiles, or amphibians is purposely crushed, burned, drowned, suffocated, impaled, or otherwise subjected to serious bodily injury.”
Scott, 24, was initially charged with 12 counts of Animal Offense-Animal Care/Treatment for the reported offense on Saturday, according to police reports. The dogs and cats in her care were extremely dehydrated, and their bodies were in ‘low condition.’
Scott was sentenced in 2020 after being found guilty of torturing and killing cats and dogs. She would also record the videos and post them on social media platforms.
In the videos, she allegedly said things like, “I’ll be killing a pregnant Siamese and a kitten later today.”
Treston Cannon and Crystal Lynn Bunch, who were also arrested on Saturday, face preliminary charges of 12 counts of Animal Offense-Animal Care/Treatment.
This is an active investigation.
