Houston, TX – Houston police have arrested a 19-year-old in connection with a tragic crash that killed an infant on Wednesday evening in the Alief area.
The incident occurred on Cook Road between Bellaire and Beechnut, involving three vehicles. Authorities confirmed that the baby, who was under one year old, died as a result of the collision. Investigators are reviewing whether the child’s car seat was properly secured at the time of the crash.
The suspect, identified as Isiah Martinez, faces charges of failure to stop and render aid involving death, as well as driving while intoxicated, according to court records.
Police have not yet disclosed the exact role Martinez played in the crash, and no other injuries or arrests have been reported as of Friday morning. The investigation remains ongoing.
