High-Speed Chase from Batavia to Chicago ends in Crash and Arrest of 19-year-old Driver

Chicago, IL — A high-speed police chase that began in Batavia early Monday morning came to a dramatic end in Chicago with a crash and multiple individuals in custody.

According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, the incident started shortly before 1 a.m. when deputies were alerted to a gray Infiniti driving at high speeds without license plates. Witnesses also reported that the vehicle’s occupants were wearing ski masks. The car was last seen heading south on Washington Street near Fabyan Parkway in Batavia.

A short time later, deputies located the vehicle heading south on Church Road near Bilter Road in Aurora. When they attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, triggering a pursuit that spanned several roadways — including Indian Trail, Orchard Road, and eventually Interstate 88 heading eastbound.

Authorities say Downers Grove police successfully deployed spike strips to deflate the Infiniti’s tires. Despite this, the driver continued into Chicago, where the car ultimately collided with another vehicle. No serious injuries were reported in the crash.

The driver, identified as 19-year-old Milton Boni of Chicago, was taken into custody at the scene. Two passengers — a 19-year-old from St. Charles Township and a juvenile — were transported to Mount Sinai Hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Boni faces several charges, including fleeing and eluding at high speed, causing bodily injury, property damage exceeding $300, disobeying multiple traffic control devices, and driving with an altered or concealed registration.

Charges against the two passengers are pending as the investigation remains active.
