A man suffered severe injuries following a weekend crash involving an all-terrain vehicle in Iron County.
On Friday evening at approximately 9 p.m., deputies from the Iron County sheriff’s office responded to reports of a serious ATV accident in the vicinity of the Dry Lakes area near Brian Head. Upon arrival at the scene, deputies reported that emergency personnel discovered a man with serious head injuries stemming from the accident.
As of Wednesday, the Iron County Sheriff’s Office has yet to disclose the identity or age of the victim.
Sheriff’s Sgt. Tom Byrd reported that an initial investigation revealed “the ATV had been traveling at a high rate of speed when it veered off the road and collided with a rock.”
Due to the critical nature of the man’s injuries, emergency air transport was summoned to take him to a hospital. While specifics about his injuries were not disclosed, Byrd confirmed that he was still in critical condition on Wednesday.
