No significant injuries were reported after two firemen were momentarily trapped while fighting a fire at a machine plant in Wisconsin late Sunday morning.
According to a Plymouth Fire Department release, crews responded to the Millennium Technologies machine shop in Plymouth at 11:16 a.m. after receiving reports of visible smoke.
Due to the size of the business structure and reports of chemicals kept within, multiple nearby units were dispatched to help. According to reports, all dangerous materials had been safely stored.
At 12:21 p.m., officials say a partial ceiling collapsed inside the machine shop, trapping two firefighters for a brief period of time. Both firefighters were soon located, assisted, and medically checked on the site; no significant injuries were reported.
The Sheboygan County Fire Investigation Team and the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team were called in to help document the incident and determine its cause.
While the cause of the fire is officially unresolved, authorities believe it was started by an electrical fault in the building’s break room.
There is currently no more information available, and no estimate of overall damages has been given.
An inquiry into the fire is ongoing as per the authorities.
