Calloway County Pair Arrested after Drugs Found in Vehicle during Traffic Stop

A routine traffic stop along Interstate 69 led to the arrest of two Calloway County residents on multiple drug-related charges Thursday afternoon, June 5.

At approximately 12:20 p.m., Sgt. Ben Dornan and Chief Deputy Jeremy Prince conducted a stop on a Ford F-150 near mile marker 21. During the investigation, deputies became suspicious of drug activity and conducted a search of the vehicle.

The search uncovered several grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, and various drug paraphernalia items, according to the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.

The vehicle’s occupants, Donald Grimes, 63, and Heidi Grimes, 41, both of Murray, were taken into custody at the scene. They were initially booked at the Graves County RC Center and later transferred to a facility outside the county.

Donald Grimes faces multiple charges, including:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, First Degree (Methamphetamine)
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
  • Additional traffic-related offenses

Heidi Grimes was charged with:

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, First Degree
  • Possession of Marijuana
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

The case remains under investigation by the Graves County Sheriff’s Office.
