All dead in wrong-way Arizona Freeway Crash near White Hills; Alcohol or Drugs Suspected

White Hills, AZ – A tragic wrong-way crash on a northern Arizona freeway early Saturday morning left five people dead, including a child. Authorities believe impairment may have played a role in the fatal collision.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) reported that the crash occurred around 2 a.m. on U.S. 93 near White Hills, roughly 40 miles north of Kingman. A 4-door Jeep station wagon was traveling north in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 4-door Hyundai station wagon.

The Jeep carried two adult men, while the Hyundai contained a man, a woman, and a young child. According to DPS, all five individuals were killed in the crash, which caused both vehicles to catch fire.

None of the victims has been publicly identified as of Saturday evening. DPS investigators suspect that impairment may have contributed to the deadly crash, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

The stretch of U.S. 93 where the accident occurred is a heavily traveled route between Las Vegas and Phoenix and has seen multiple serious crashes over the years. Authorities are urging drivers to remain alert and avoid impaired driving.
