A cow collided with a motorbike rider on a highway in northern Utah on Saturday night, resulting in his death.
The accident occurred in the Monte Cristo area at approximately 10 p.m. on State Route 39, near milepost 53. The cattle was on the road, which passes through an open range area, according to officials from the Rich County Sheriff’s Office and Utah Highway Patrol.
This location is approximately 14 miles west of Woodruff, situated in an open range area where livestock, such as cows, are known to roam freely .

The motorcyclist was pronounced deceased at the scene, despite the efforts of the initial responders to save him.
The victim was a 27-year-old male who was travelling with a group. His identity has yet to be disclosed.
UHP also reported that the motorbike caught fire as a result of the collision.
