Following a confrontation with many police departments and SWAT on Friday night, a guy from Carbon County was taken into custody.
Rogelio Bustillos was “armed with multiple firearms and hundreds of rounds of ammunition,” according to the Price Police Department, and he had threatened to engage in a “shoot-out” with law enforcement.
In the end, Bustillos was apprehended shortly before 6:30 p.m. in a remote location close to an abandoned mine road close to Kenilworth.
According to the police, Bustillos was arrested on several charges, including aggravated kidnapping, aggravated burglary, and aggravated assault, after an altercation at a Price home on Thursday morning. He was taken to the Carbon County Jail.
There were concerns of a continuing active shooter situation because of the heavy police presence from several agencies. On social media, Price Police promptly announced that there was no active shooter.
Following the arrest, the Price Police noted, “It was imperative the suspect was not alerted to or had any idea we knew of his location before law enforcement engagement,” explaining why so few details were made public during the event.
