Families dependent on the Utah Fits All Scholarship program find themselves in a state of uncertainty, anxiously anticipating whether they will secure the necessary funds for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
Students can receive financial support ranging from $4,000 to $8,000 to assist with expenses related to attending private school or homeschooling, based on their choice.
With the deadline for applications for the upcoming school year having passed on May 1, families eagerly awaited notifications by May 31 regarding their scholarship status.
Odyssey, the newly appointed company overseeing the program, has revealed on its website that it will be re-evaluating this year’s application cycle, citing concerns over information that it described as “incomplete, inconsistent, or lacking proper verification.”
The previous program manager, ACE Scholarships, provided them with that information. On May 16, the Utah State Board of Education announced that Odyssey has assumed control of the administration from ACE.
Odyssey stated that the choice to mandate families to reapply for the 2025-2026 scholarships was made to “ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with the Utah Fits All law.”
The company has yet to provide a timeline for notifying families about scholarship awards for the upcoming school year.
