RIVERSIDE, Calif. — A man has died after being taken into custody by Riverside police following an incident at a McDonald’s restaurant, officials confirmed Monday.

The incident unfolded early Friday morning at the McDonald’s located in the 7400 block of Indiana Avenue. According to a statement from the Riverside Police Department, officers were called to the fast-food restaurant around 6:38 a.m. after employees reported that a man had locked himself inside the restroom and was unresponsive.
