A tragic discovery was made on Tuesday as a woman was found dead from a gunshot wound in her Richfield apartment.
Authorities in Richfield carried out a welfare check on 22-year-old Kayli Grace Arseth following concerns that she did not report to work and had not been in contact since Monday evening.
Authorities arrived at the residence located on the 7700 block of Penn Avenue South, where they found her deceased within the apartment. A report from the Hennepin Medical Examiner reveals that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, with the incident classified as a homicide.
Authorities revealed that during the execution of a search warrant, they discovered the apartment was locked tight, with all windows secured and no indications of forced entry.
Authorities have revealed that the search warrant indicates the presence of bloodstains within the apartment, along with a noticeable blood smear found on the outside of the apartment door.
In a statement released on Friday, law enforcement officials reported that officers “noticed indications of a confrontation,” yet refrained from disclosing the details surrounding the shooting or the events that preceded it.
As of now, no arrests have been reported. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
