A couple traveling in an RV from Kansas to New Jersey encountered a harrowing incident on Interstate 70 Thursday morning, resulting in a dramatic collision with a box truck that ended in flames.
A 75-year-old man and a 71-year-old woman were involved in a serious incident early this morning. The couple was driving eastbound around 5:30 a.m. when their RV collided with a construction barrier, resulting in the vehicle rolling over three times.
An RV collided with a concrete construction wall during its final roll, flipping upside down into the fast lane, where it was subsequently struck by a box truck.
A couple was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment and subsequently discharged. A tragic accident claimed the life of the couple’s beloved 1-year-old dog. Authorities in Foristell reported that the driver of the box truck emerged unscathed.
Roads were shut down for several hours, but traffic resumed around 8:30 a.m.
