20-year-old Ejected in High-Speed Crash after Corvette goes Airborne in Wisconsin

A 20-year-old man is in the hospital following a serious crash that left him ejected from his vehicle, which went airborne and rolled over several times.

Dispatchers at the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office received multiple calls regarding a single-vehicle accident at approximately 8:37 p.m. on Wednesday.

Authorities arrived at the intersection of County Highway K and Mitchell Lane in Nokomis. Preliminary inquiries revealed that a 1986 Chevy Corvette, operated by a 20-year-old named Gabriel Wallmow from Rhinelander, was traveling west on County Highway K.

According to witnesses, the driver sped past them quickly, leading to Wallmow losing control of the vehicle. A vehicle veered off the road, launched into the air, and flipped multiple times.

Wallnow was said to have been thrown from the crash and subsequently transported by ambulance to Tomahawk Aspirus Hospital, before being airlifted to another facility.

The inquiry continues to unfold.

No further information was disclosed.
