A motorcycle rider was killed late Monday night after colliding with two other cars in west Houston.

It happened shortly before 11 p.m. on Westheimer, near the Sam Houston Tollway in West Chase.

According to police, a Toyota was leaving a shopping center driveway and attempting to cross all four westbound lanes to make a left turn in the left lane when an unidentified motorcyclist struck the Toyota driver’s front side.

Investigators said the impact caused the motorcyclist to cross into oncoming lanes and collide with an eastbound Honda. According to police, the driver attempted to swerve but hit the motorcycle head-on, ejecting the rider.

HFD paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead on the scene.

Meanwhile, the Honda driver was checked for injuries at the scene but chose to drive himself to the hospital rather than being transported by ambulance.

The Toyota driver remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries, but police do not believe she was intoxicated and have been cooperative throughout the investigation.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
