Judge denies bond for Man accused of violent Carjacking in DuPage County

A Cook County man will remain in jail after prosecutors allege that he threatened a woman during a carjacking at a Taco Bell restaurant in Villa Park earlier this year.

The DuPage County State’s Attorney’s Office reported that Demitrious Green, 33, was charged with vehicular hijacking and appeared in court this week.

Around 9:34 p.m. on April 6, the female victim was in a car in the Taco Bell parking lot on the 100 block of W. Roosevelt Road, while two other people she had come with were inside the restaurant.

Prosecutors said Green approached the car and told the woman to “get the f*** out,” which she did.

Green was allegedly holding his hand in his coat’s waistband. When the victim’s friends exited the restaurant and began walking toward the car, Green told them to “stay the f*** back.”

Prosecutors claim Green then got into his car and fled the scene.

Investigators eventually identified Green, of Oak Park, as the suspected carjacker and arrested him in Chicago last Saturday.

A judge ordered that he remain in jail while awaiting trial.

Green’s next court appearance is scheduled for July 15 to be arraigned.
