Staten Island, NY – Residents can expect a gray and damp start to the week, with cloudy skies and a slight chance of light rain throughout Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Temperatures are forecast to be mild and slightly warmer than Sunday, but sunshine will be limited. A light drizzle is possible in the afternoon and evening, with dense cloud cover persisting most of the day. Light east winds of up to 10 mph may add to the damp conditions.
Moisture levels remain elevated, especially in western portions of New York City, increasing the chance for intermittent precipitation.
Looking ahead, the NWS expects the unsettled weather pattern to continue. Rain is likely in the northern and western parts of NYC on Tuesday, followed by a warm front moving in on Wednesday that could trigger thunderstorms.
By Thursday afternoon and evening, there is a higher chance for storms and potentially severe weather.
Conditions are expected to improve by the weekend, with drier and warmer weather anticipated across the region.
