Harris County, TX – A 25-year-old man is dead and two others are injured following a shooting outside Stampede Houston in northeast Harris County early Sunday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. in the nightclub’s parking lot on the Eastex Freeway. Authorities say a fight broke out between two groups of men before gunfire erupted, striking three individuals.
One man, 25, was pronounced dead at the scene. The two other victims were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Their conditions have not been publicly released.
“It got pretty chaotic because our understanding is there were several people already in the parking lot. It was near the time that the club was shutting down,” said Gonzalez.
The shooter or shooters reportedly fled the scene, and investigators are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has information to come forward.
“One person was pronounced deceased, a young person. And then another young person is fighting for their life right now. So, we have some serious injuries that occurred as a result of this senseless violence,” said Gonzalez.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information to contact them directly or call Crime Stoppers at (713) 222-TIPS. Callers can remain anonymous.
The investigation is ongoing.
