Winneconne, WI — A 44-year-old woman from Monroe County was arrested Wednesday afternoon near Winneconne High School after a traffic stop led to the discovery of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and drug paraphernalia, according to the Winneconne Police Department.
The incident occurred on June 11 when officers pulled over a vehicle on Wolf Run near the high school. The woman, who claimed she was in the area to go fishing, reportedly showed “several suspicious indicators” during the stop. Officers later learned she was on active probation for five previous felony convictions, including for manufacturing and delivering methamphetamine.
Given her probation status and behavior, officers searched the vehicle and allegedly found drugs and related paraphernalia.
The woman was booked into the Winnebago County Jail and is facing multiple felony charges, including:
- Possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine (10-50g) – Repeater
- Possession with intent to distribute near a school – Repeater

- Possession of drug paraphernalia – Repeater
- Felony bail jumping
Charges will be referred to the Winnebago County District Attorney’s Office.
In a Facebook post, the Winneconne Police Department stated: “We welcome folks to our amazing community to enjoy our wonderful fishing, but please don’t come here and bring this poison with you… If you do, you will certainly catch more than a fish.”
