Chandler, AZ — A deadly crash on Loop 202 near McClintock Road claimed the life of one person Saturday evening, as authorities continue to search for the driver who fled the scene on foot.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred just after 6:30 p.m. and involved three vehicles. Investigators believe the driver of a white SUV lost control and struck the left concrete median. The SUV then side-swiped another vehicle, and debris from that collision hit a third vehicle.
A male passenger in the SUV was ejected during the crash and pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger from the same vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, no one in the other two vehicles was injured.
DPS officials report that the driver of the white SUV abandoned the scene on foot and remains at large. Authorities are actively investigating the incident and searching for the suspect.
