Cobb County, GA — Authorities are investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a 69-year-old Atlanta man late Monday night.
The Cobb County Police Department said the incident occurred just before 11 p.m. on Interstate 285 westbound at the off-ramp to South Cobb Drive.
According to investigators, a white 2024 Dodge Ram tow truck, driven by 29-year-old Mario Holloway of Atlanta, was stationary in the median between I-285 West and the off-ramp. At the same time, a gray 2010 Toyota Camry, driven by Oluwakayode Elutilo, 69, of Atlanta, was traveling westbound on the interstate.
For unknown reasons, Elutilo’s vehicle veered into the median and collided with the back of the stationary tow truck. The Toyota came to rest still wedged into the back of the tow truck, police said.
Elutilo was pronounced dead at the scene. Holloway was uninjured in the crash, according to police.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact the Cobb County Police Department at 770-499-3987.
