66-year-old woman killed in Southeast Austin crash involving 3 vehicles

A three-vehicle collision in southeast Austin on Wednesday night claimed the life of a 66-year-old woman, according to the Austin Police Department.

The crash occurred around 9 p.m. at the intersection of E. Ben White Boulevard and E. Riverside Drive. Authorities said two sedans and a pickup truck were involved in the incident.

Emergency responders transported the driver and a passenger of one of the sedans to a nearby hospital. The driver, identified as Lisa Gail Cooper, later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to police, the other individuals involved in the crash either suffered minor injuries or were uninjured.

The crash marks Austin’s 38th traffic-related fatality of 2025.

As of Thursday, no additional details have been released. The investigation is ongoing.
