A tragic accident occurred Tuesday, resulting in the death of a motorcyclist following a collision with a sport utility vehicle.
Authorities received reports of the incident shortly before 6 a.m. Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Mikelshan Bartschi reported that a motorcyclist was seen speeding south on 1200 West near 3900 South, manoeuvring past vehicles in oncoming traffic.
According to Bartschi, Jose Manuel Figueroa Bejar, 24, at one moment, moved into the lane and struck an SUV. Tragedy struck as Bejar, donning a helmet, was declared dead at the scene.
The SUV was occupied solely by the driver. Emergency responders provided on-site treatment.
